Computer

Computer is an electronic calculating machine that rapidly receives the digital input information and processing that information according to a set of instructions stored in the computer and generate output information is produced after being processed. A list of commands is called a computer program and the storage unit is a computer memory.

Input unit receives the coded information from the human operator through electro-mechanical devices like a keyboard on a video terminal, or from other computers via a digital communication channels. Information received and stored in memory for later use, or directly processed by the arithmetic and logic circuits to perform the desired operation. Processing steps is determined by a program stored in the memory. Finally the results obtained are sent back out through the output unit. All activities are coordinated by the control unit.
